Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are rare, self-renewing cells that sustain lifelong blood and immune cell production. Understanding how these cells function and change with age is essential for tackling age-related immune decline, blood disorders and improving regenerative therapies.

My research focuses on the molecular and functional heterogeneity of HSCs, particularly how ageing influences lineage bias and regenerative potential. I integrate single-cell multi-omics, machine learning, and transplantation assays to characterise HSC compartment clonal dynamic and functional decline.

As part of my DPhil work, I identified surface markers for FACS-based isolation of lineage-biased HSCs with unprecedented precision, and uncovered novel molecular targets to precisely counteract haematopoietic ageing.

I plan to graduate in summer 2025 and will continue studying mouse and human HSC ageing using advanced computational and molecular approaches.
